Defeated by Hoffenheim just before the international break, the RBL had to raise its head to hang on to the lead car. Ultra-dominant during the first 45 minutes, Ole Werner’s men however lacked success in the last gesture.
Returning from the locker room, young Assan Ouedraogo finally found the fault for the locals (1-0, 63rd) before Xaver Schlager made the break (2-0, 80th) and allowed the RBL to pocket the 3 points. With this result (2-0), Leipzig moves back to 2nd place while Werder remains 8th.
