From the 2026-2027 season, Arsenal will end its partnership with Visit Rwanda, which has appeared on the sleeve of the Gunners’ jerseys since 2018. If the contract, still in force until June 2026, was financially very attractive for the Gunners, it had also become a source of unease within the club and among supporters. More than 90% of fans surveyed voted to put an end to it according to The Athleticnotably due to accusations of human rights violations targeting the Rwandan government and alleged support for the M23 militia in Congo. An immediate break would have been complicated and costly, but Arsenal wanted to clarify its position and limit image risks such as possible financial repercussions in the event of international sanctions.
The club therefore chose to change its commercial strategy and explore other avenues, in a very competitive sponsorship market. Arsenal received proposals from several brands, particularly in tech and cryptocurrencies, and a new offer proved more advantageous. The recently renewed steering committee validated this orientation.
