When we talk about PSG’s flops, the name of Nicolas Ouédec is not mentioned very often. Wrongly.

The 1998 summer transfer window was marked by the arrival of

Nigerian Jay-Jay Okocha. A few days earlier, the capital club had secured the services of Nicolas Ouédec.

Then aged 26, the striker who made the heyday of FC Nantes arrives fromEspanyol from Barcelona. Amount of transfer: forty million francs, or around six million euros. A nice sum for the time.

Ouédec at PSG, a starving record

Certainly, Nicolas Ouédec will win the Champions Trophy. However, his time with the Rouge et Bleu proved catastrophic. In fifteen matches played, in all competitions, the native of Lorient has only scored one goal, against Maccabi Haifa in the European Cup Cup.

Following the replacement of Alain Giresse by
the Portuguese Artur JorgeNicolas Ouédec no longer has a future at PSG. In January 1999, he was transferred to Montpellier. Within the Hérault club, the top scorer of the 1994 French championship finds Patrice Loko, who had made the same move (on loan) two months earlier.
