This is something new this season for OM. The team coached by Roberto De Zerbi scores a lot. Before the other Ligue 1 matches scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, the Provençal club has the best attack in the Championship and has regained, perhaps provisionally, first place in the ranking.
At halftime
Nice-OM (0-2), a match played on Friday evening and counting for the 13th day of Ligue 1, the Marseille team had crossed the mark of 30 goals scored. OM’s best total since 1970-1971, the season at the end of which the Provençal club won its third French championship title.
At the end of its performance on the pitch of the Allianz Riviera, concluded with a clear 5-1 success, OM now have 33 goals scored after 13 Championship matches, the best total in the elite at this stage of the competition since 1948-1949 (40 goals), underlines the account X Football Stats.
Greenwood gets noticed again
Mason Greenwood, author of a double in Nice, also displays remarkable statistics. The English striker now has 30 Championship goals with the OM jersey, after 46 matches. He ranks third behind the Swede Gunnar Andersson (34 matches to reach this total) and the Croatian Josip Skoblar (38).
With 10 goals since the start of the season, Mason Greenwood has taken the lead in the scorers’ ranking, behind the Argentinian from Strasbourg Joaquin Panichelli (9 goals). The latter can regain control on Saturday afternoon on the Lens field.
