Given the long and rich history of Bayern Munich, the performance of Michael Olise is particularly noteworthy. The French winger achieved what no one had ever achieved in the Bavarian jersey. The feat took place on Saturday afternoon during the 11th day of the German Championship.
At 23 years and 345 days old, Michael Olise became the youngest Bayern Munich player to be involved in five goals in a single Bundesliga match. Against Fribourg, the French left-hander scored twice (45th + 2, 84th) and delivered three assists during the 6-2 success obtained by Vincent Kompany’s men, trailing 0-2 after 17 minutes.
Another member of the French team had fun on the pitch of the Allianz Arena in front of around 75,000 spectators. Central defender Dayot Upamecano allowed Bayern to go ahead for the first time in the match, served by Olise (3-2, 55th).
Invincible Bayern
This tenth victory for Bayern, for a draw, since the start of the Bundesliga season, consolidates Manuel Neuer and his team at the top of the ranking, with eight points ahead of their runner-up, Bayer Leverkusen.
The Bavarian team remains undefeated, after 18 matches played this season, in all competitions, and before a trip to London next week. Arsenal (Premier League) will host Bayern Munich on Wednesday for the 5th day of the Champions League.
