After deciding to represent Algeria, his father’s country of origin, Luca Zidane made his first selection with the Fennecs on October 14, against Uganda. And while he hoped to continue during this gathering in November, the 27-year-old goalkeeper unfortunately injured his adductor.

The eldest son of “Zizou” thus had to forfeit the two friendly matches won by Algeria, against Zimbabwe (3-1) and Saudi Arabia. Luca Zidane went to dispute his injury with the doctors of the Algerian selection, before returning to Granada, where he has been playing since 2024.

And good news, the native of Marseille recovered faster than expected. He normally participated in Nazaries training this Friday. Luca Zidane is therefore ready to make his return to competition this Saturday (9 p.m.) for the derby against Cordoba, on behalf of the 15e day of Liga 2 (2e Spanish division).

Luca Zidane will meet his little brother this weekend

An obviously special meeting for the Zidane family… Indeed, Luca will meet his little brother ThĂ©o (23 years old), midfielder for the Cordoba team and starter during his team’s last match. A match which is also crucial for Granada, currently 19th place in the ranking.

If he does not get injured again, Luca Zidane will travel to Morocco in a month to play the African Cup of Nations with the Fennecs. The latter will begin their tournament on December 24, against Sudan.
