For the resumption of the Premier League after two weeks of international break, Chelsea FC did not miss its return. Traveling this Saturday to Burnley, the Blues made their status as favorites known and won without trembling (0-2, 12th day).
With better ball possession than their opponents during the first act (57%), the visitors ended up opening the scoring in the thirty-seventh minute of play through Pedro Neto (0-1). Enough to reach the locker room with a small goal in advance.
In the second half, two French defenders came into play on the Chelsea side; first Benoît Badiashile (46th) then Malo Gusto (67th). Opposite, Burnley couldn’t find the key and only got on target once when the Blues once again showed themselves to be more dangerous.
Chelsea in contact, Burnley in pain
And it is almost logical that they scored a new goal in the last minutes of the game. On a service from Marc Guiu, Enzo Fernandez validated the victory for his team (0-2, 88th). In the provisional ranking, Chelsea move up to second place while waiting for Manchester City to play Newcastle that same day (4 p.m.).
Chelsea are three points behind leader Arsenal. As for Burnley, this third consecutive defeat places it in a very unfortunate position. The Clarets can find themselves in the red zone if West Ham and/or Nottingham Forest win, against Bournemouth and Liverpool respectively.
