Injured in the ankle, Achraf Hakimi nevertheless has reason to rejoice. The PSG full-back has just been elected African Ballon d’Or, an award which recognizes his immense 2024-2025 season, marked by the historic coronation in the Champions League. Le Parisien, who said he was ready to repeat his exploits, was however stopped in his tracks.
During the Champions League clash between PSG and Bayern Munich at the beginning of November (1-2 defeat), the Moroccan was injured. Just before the break, a muscular duel between Luis Diaz and Hakimi turned into a dangerous move on the Parisian defender, now away from the field for at least another three to four weeks.
Hard blow for Bayern
Initially sanctioned with a simple yellow card, Diaz was finally sent off after intervention by the VAR. The Germans expected a limited suspension but the bill turned out to be much heavier. The UEFA committee has decided: three firm matches for “rough play”.
The Colombian will therefore miss the clash against Arsenal on Wednesday (9 p.m.), then the matches against Sporting CP and Union Saint-Gilloise. A decision which surprised Bayern, where an appeal cannot be ruled out. “My information was only one match. I would be really disappointed if it was incorrect”confided Vincent Kompany Friday morning at a press conference.
