Unsurprisingly, Achraf Hakimi was voted best Wednesday evening
African player of the year 2025 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Good news for the Moroccan defender, currently injured.
A trophy which rewarded an exceptional year for the right back of Paris Saint-Germain. A club with which the 27-year-old is linked for another three and a half years.
“Achraf is currently fully focused on his convalescence and his return to the field. He is happy in Paris, where he has a contract until 2029,” recalled his agent, to the transalpine media Sports Mediaset.
Hakimi, return to Real Madrid?
What happens next, however, is more surprising. “In football, anything is possible, and Real Madrid is his home, where he started at the youth academy,” underlined Alejandro Camano.
Born in the Spanish capital, Achraf Hakimi was trained within the Merengue club. Launched into the first team by Zinédine Zidane, he only played 17 matches in this tunic, scoring two goals. Loaned to Borussia Dortmund in 2018, he will be transferred to Inter Milan for forty million euros during the summer of 2020.
