Canal+ subscribers can take a breather. While the loss of part of the TV rights to the Champions League for the period 2027-2031 was to be feared, UEFA having wanted to allocate the lot of the Tuesday evening poster to a large digital platform, the encrypted channel ultimately kept its catalog.

According to The Teamthe group chaired by Maxime Saada will therefore continue to broadcast for four additional years not only the C1, but also 100% of the other European cups, namely the Europa League and the Conference League. A real masterstroke which is not the only big news announced on Thursday.

Champions League final changes channel

The sports daily also revealed that there would be changes for the Champions League final, co-broadcast by Canal+ and a free-to-air channel. Currently and until 2027, M6 is broadcasting this event. This was the case last May 31 in Munich, for the coronation of PSG against Inter Milan (5-0).

But Six will lose this right over the period 2027-2031 to the benefit of TF1. La Une, which was already broadcasting the C1 final a few years earlier, would have bet “a little less than 2 million euros” to get it back. With a return to business planned for spring 2028 and the prospect of a good audience.
