Robert Lewandowski is renowned for his all-consuming ambition, on and off the pitch. And according to Polish journalist Sebastian Staszewski, who also wrote a biography of the player, the Polish striker does not hesitate to influence his club’s decisions to maximize its chances of success. “It is madness, a thirst for victory that pushes Robert to apply a very simple rule to his life: those who help him succeed are his friends, those who obstruct him are his enemies. If a coach opposes his beliefs, Robert is usually convinced he is right.”explains the journalist in an interview given to Tribuna. This determination would have notably played a role in the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern.

The same pattern would have happened at Barça under Xavi. Staszewski explained that Lewandowski considered the team’s performance insufficient and would have encouraged the coach’s departure, despite the initial transfer requested by Xavi himself. “Flick arrived and suddenly Robert had a fantastic season. When it comes to winning, Lewandowski is relentless”underlines the Pole. News that should not please some…
