Wednesday evening, Achraf Hakimi was crowned African Ballon d’Or 2025 after his exceptional season with Paris Saint-Germain. A reward which brought a smile back to the Moroccan right-back, victim of a serious sprain of his left ankle. It is also uncertain for the CAN, scheduled from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
Launched into a race against time, Hakimi does everything possible to be restored in time for the continental tournament. “ Achraf is completely focused on his recovery from his injury and his return to the field”indicated his agent, Alejandro Camano, to the transalpine mediaSports Mediaset.
The player representative then discussed the future of the 27-year-old former Inter player. The opportunity for Camano to recall that his colt feels good in Paris, before opening the door to a return to Real Madrid, where he was trained and made his professional debut.
“Real Madrid is his home”
“He is happy in Paris, where he has a contract until 2029. But in football, nothing is impossible… And Real Madrid is his home, where he started in the youth teams”he blurted. This is a statement which does not fail to provoke a reaction and which sows confusion over the medium and long term future of Achraf Hakimi at PSG.
As a reminder, Hakimi was born and raised in Madrid. After playing in the White House youth teams, the African Ballon d’Or played 17 games (2 goals) with the first team. But blocked by competition from Dani Carvajal, the Moroccan decided to seek playing time elsewhere. He first joined Borussia Dortmund then Inter Milan, before joining PSG in the summer of 2021.
