Rabiot ready to reunite with Milan midfielder
Rabiot was out for almost a month after tearing the soleus in his left calf during a rally with the France team. Milan have struggled in his absence, winning just two and drawing three in Serie A, underlining the importance of the French midfielder since his arrival from Marseille on the final day of the transfer window.
The 30-year-old has now completed a full training session with the team and is preparing to make his return in Sunday’s Milan derby against Inter. His return promises to bring the serenity, technique and defensive solidity that were sorely lacking during his injury absence.

The former Juventus midfielder looked back on his recovery and expressed his enthusiasm at the idea of returning to the pitch. In an interview with DAZN, he said:
” I’m doing well. I have been working indoors and outdoors over the past few weeks. I miss the field terribly! I feel in great shape, both physically and mentally. No athlete likes to be injured, and I’m sorry I couldn’t help the team during this time. My recovery took a little longer than expected, because with calves you have to be careful. Better to avoid an absence of three or four additional weeks. »
Rabiot also shared his thoughts on the upcoming Milan derby and the atmosphere surrounding one of Italy’s most intense matches: “It’s an exciting match. I’ve never seen him at the stadium, but I’m really looking forward to being there because I love these kinds of matches. You don’t really see the atmosphere on TV, but it will be great to be able to say that I played in a derby like this. It would be great to win at the last minute thanks to a goal from you! It will be difficult; we are two strong teams. The result will be decided on the pitch. »
He added: “ (Mike) Maignan spoke to me about the importance of this match, how crucial a victory is for the history of the club and for the supporters. All this motivates me enormously, I can’t wait to play, especially since I haven’t played for a month and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch. »
