Real Madrid’s replacement goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin, has decided to respond strongly to the criticism that has been aimed at him in Ukraine following his absence during the last two international breaks. In a press release published on his Instagram account, he denounces information “not only false, but fabricated” suggesting that he would have refused to join the national team. “Playing for the national team is the dream and goal of every footballer, and for me it is an honor to represent the colors of our country”says Lunin, emphasizing that he has never refused to play and that he always respects the coach’s decisions for the good of the team.

The Ukrainian doorman takes the opportunity to call on the media to be more rigorous and professional, criticizing the lack of verification of information before broadcast: “The articles published are misleading. The lack of professionalism of journalists who publish or make such statements disrespects me, both professionally and personally”he writes.
