Two matches, two victories. A month after its draw in Iceland, the France team ended its qualifying campaign for the World Cup in America on a good note. After easily dominating Ukraine at the Parc des Princes and thus validating their ticket to the World Cup, the Blues were victorious in Azerbaijan.

Thanks to its two victories, France has resumed its march forward in the FIFA Ranking. If the Blues remain on the third step of the podium, the 7.3 points scored allow them to get closer to their two main rivals in the race for third place.

Because at the same time, while Argentina only played a friendly match against Angola, Spain, after beating Georgia, had to settle for a draw against Turkey. Also, the Albiceleste only scored 0.9 points and Spain lost 3.6 points.

Spain ends 2025 in first place

When the FIFA rankings are next published, France will therefore only be 3 points behind Argentina and 7 behind Spain, which will therefore end the year 2025 in first place.

In the wake of France, England follows at the foot of the podium and Brazil, thanks to its two victories over Senegal and Tunisia, completes the Top 5 after gaining two places at the expense of Portugal and the Netherlands. Belgium and Germany follow while Croatia completes the Top 10.
