At the beginning of November, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to Piers Morgan about his wish to meet Donald Trump. The journalist then replied that he could organize the thing. Two weeks later, the Portuguese footballer’s wish came true. This Tuesday, CR7 was at the White House, as part of a visit by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Ben Salman.

Cristiano Ronaldo explained two weeks ago, speaking of the North American leader: “ That the world is at peace is our goal. He is one of the men who can change the world (…). If we can help each other make that happen. (…) He’s one of the men I want to meet (…), have a good conversation. He’s one of the people I really like. »

The two men therefore had the opportunity to discuss during the day. A dinner was then organized at the White House, a moment chosen by Donald Trump to pay tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo during a short speech. “He is a leader in the world of business and sport. My son is a big fan of (Cristiano) Ronaldo. We have (Cristiano) Ronaldo here. »

Cristiano Ronaldo hopes to return

After a round of applause, the president added a little joke, still talking about his son, now nineteen years old. “Barron respects his father a little more now, just because I introduced you to him. » And to conclude this wink by thanking both Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez for being present. “Thank you for being here, it’s an honor. »

Suspended and deprived of the last qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup, won handily by Portugal against Armenia (9-1), Cristiano Ronaldo therefore made the most of his free time with this trip to the United States. He will most likely return next summer.
