Barça asked Lewandowski not to score anymore!

Funny information revealed in a biography of Robert Lewandowski written by Sebastian Staszewski, and repeated everywhere in the Spanish press, as in Marca. FC Barcelona would thus have, at the end of the 2022/2023 season and two days from the end, asked its striker to no longer score goals. And for a reason that is anything but sporting.

Indeed, if the striker had reached 25 goals in La Liga this season – he was at 23 at the time of Barça’s petition – Barça would have had to pay 2.5 million euros in bonuses to Bayern Munich. A sum that the club, in a very delicate financial situation, could not afford to pay. Lewandowski was surprised by this petition, but did not score in these last two matches, still finishing Pichichi ahead of Karim Benzema.
