The conflict between PSG and Kylian Mbappé took a new turn on Monday. The two parties had in fact met before the industrial tribunal to defend their cause. While the Mbappé clan requested the reclassification of his CDD into a permanent contract and demanded some 260 million euros from the capital club, the latter requested no less than 440 million from its former player to settle the dispute.
And the PSG lawyer details the composition of this request deemed “delusional” by the Mbappé camp: “20 million for damage to the image, 60 million for bad faith in the execution of an agreement dated August 2023, 180 million for the concealment of this agreement and 180 million for loss of chance to transfer the player”.
“Mr Mbappé has continually attacked the club at every opportunity, including through the proceedings initiated today – a regrettable situation for the player himself, as for French football as a whole before the court, the club presented evidence demonstrating that the player acted in bad faith,” added the council of the Parisian club.
Confirmed moral harassment
For her part, Kylian Mbappé’s lawyer highlighted the consequences of the conflict on the mental health of the former Monegasque. “Everything that has been said about moral harassment really corresponds to the player’s suffering. And everything that was said about his athletic abilities too. Obviously they were altered after suffering the pressure he suffered. I don’t think he saw all this as an image issue. He experienced it all as a sporting issue”she confided.
From now on, the Bondynois still has almost a month to wait before the industrial tribunal delivers its verdict. “You know Kylian (Mbappé). He is involved in everything regarding his football career. It’s a file that affected him enormously for a big year. Even when he joined the Real Madrid club, he was still affected for a very long time. Afterwards, I believe that today, he has confidence in the justice of his country. He awaits the decision calmly,” explained the advice of the world champion.
