FC Barcelona will finally return to the Spotify Camp Nou for an official La Liga match against Athletic this weekend, more than two years after the start of work and the closure of their legendary venue. The Catalan daily newspaper Mundo Deportivo announces that nine players from the Blaugrana squad will discover the stadium for the first time: Fermín López, Marc Casadó, Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, Joan Garcia, Marc Bernal, Roony Bardghji and Dro Fernández. Others, like Marcus Rashford and Wojciech Szczesny, had already visited it but as visitors. This match will also mark Hansi Flick’s home debut.
Among these debuts, the most unusual case is that of Casadó: although he had already played with the first team when they were still playing at the Camp Nou, he had only come on in away matches, contenting himself with warming up on the home touchline. For all these players, it is an awaited moment after a long period at Montjuïc.
