Again for Saint-Étienne! For the second time in a row, a Greens player is honored by the UNFP (National Union of Professional Footballers). After his teammate Lucas Stassin, crowned in September, Florian Tardieu was elected this Tuesday best player of the month of October in Ligue 2.

The ASSE midfielder collected 44% of the votes, ahead of Trojan striker Tawfik Bentayeb (34%) and Dunkirk playmaker Enzo Bardeli (22%). This is the first time in his career that the 33-year-old from Stéphane has been honored in this way. A deserved election? The question arises.

A complicated month of October for ASSE

Although he scored three goals and delivered an assist in October, the Greens lost ground on ESTAC at the top of the championship over this period, with two defeats in four matches: at home against Le Mans (2-3) then on the Annecy pitch (0-4). They are now in third place.
