On the bench of Manchester City for ten years, Pep Guardiola will lead his 1000th match. On this occasion, he was questioned by RAC-1. “I pity the detractors, but we won a lot of matches. We did a very good job. I have a particular affection for the 6-2 victory at the Bernabéu. I also have fond memories of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern in Munich, even though Atlético eliminated us. And also for the semi-final against Real Madrid (4-0), which in my opinion remains the highlight of this decade at Manchester City… There were great matches, that’s for sure.”

The Spaniard was also asked about a possible return to FC Barcelona. Which he had ruled out a few years ago. “I don’t reject Barça. As a player and coach, the club has given me everything, but there are stages in life. I say it now that Xavi Pascual is coming back, and I’m very happy about it because I’m convinced that he will bring the basketball section back to where it needs to be. But I still think that there are stages in life and that there are young coaches who will have the ambition to do what we managed to do at the time. A return to Barça? As president? Come on then! » A return is no longer completely ruled out.
