A little over two weeks ago, The Team looked into the case of Medhi Benatia at OM. The daily recounted the role of the Football Director of Olympique de Marseille in an article titled “Very powerful Benatia”. A publication which obviously did not please the Marseille management which decided to use its right of reply and to release its truths in this Saturday’s edition.

OM first considered that “contrary to what is written, no person has ‘taken power’ nor ‘installed their teams’ at Olympique de Marseille”. He also judged that he was “inaccurate to suggest that the President of the club, Pablo Longoria, would have ‘sacrificed loved ones’ under the influence of the Director of Football”.

For the Ciel et Blanc club, “the changes that have occurred in the organization of the club are the result of collective reflection (…), and do not reflect any takeover or personal intervention by anyone”. Then Marseille clarified that during its matches, “no live voice or tactical notes are transmitted to the sidelines”.

OM denies, The Team Also

In this right of reply, Pablo Longoria also
“demented(i) that the exchanges he can with
(Medhi Benatia) during the matches would include ‘salty’ remarks towards the players ». As a final point, OM added a new contradiction to the newspaper’s writings.
“Contrary to the mention in the note, the club was not contacted before the publication of this article. »

One last sentence that The Team was, in turn, contradicted. “The Team maintains all the information published in this article. OM was contacted several times during the preparation of this file and before its publication. »
