Accustomed to increasingly early moves, Chelsea have secured the signing of Deinner Ordonez, a 16-year-old young defender playing at Independiente del Valle, the original club of Moises Caicedo. According to specialist journalist Fabrizio Romano, the agreement with the player and the club is already in place, but Ordonez will not be able to join Stamford Bridge until he turns 18, i.e. in January 2028, when he will be able to sign a long-term contract.

A U20 international with Ecuador, he is part of Chelsea’s strategy to unearth promising talents before they are spotted by other clubs. A recruitment policy which has already borne fruit with Estêvão Willian (18 years old), who has established himself as a key element of the Blues squad this season.
