Olympique de Marseille will be able to assert their ambitions with a very prolific striker.

When he put his bags down at Marseille
A year and a half ago, he was still just a former fallen hope of British football whose image had been weighed down by serious private setbacks.

Water has flowed under the bridge, and if Mason Greenwood remains a very divisive sportsman, the sporting record of the English striker is quite eloquent. Capable of flashes to change a match while being more discreet, Greenwood has presented quite impressive statistics since his arrival at Canebière in the summer of 2024.

Mason Greenwood, OM’s key man.

While Mason Greenwood has reached the symbolic mark of 50 matches in the jersey of Olympique de Marseille, the British striker has totaled 30 goals and 10 assists. A record which makes him, unsurprisingly, OM’s most decisive player over the period August 2024-November 2025.

More decisive than OM legends

But these figures are all the more flattering if we look at the statistics of former great offensive figures of OM. After 50 matches, Dimitri Payet had 10 goals and 10 assists with the Marseille club. Florian Thauvin, for his part, totaled 12 goals and 10 assists.

Goleador Didier Drogba had 22 goals and 7 assists in his only year in Marseille. Finally, Mamadou Niang had a record of 19 goals and 9 assists. Being ahead of the passing times of these references is a small feat for Greenwood, who has not finished his story with OM.
