Still in the spotlight, Brazilian superstar Neymar this time launched into a virulent diatribe against a journalist on social networks.

This attack followed a press article which he describes as a “web of lies”. The incident comes after Neymar’s shocking reaction to his substitution by Santos and rumors he phoned his coach to apologize – a call the Brazil international strongly denies.

Neymar’s response: a public altercation

It’s been a tough time for the Brazilian superstar, who publicly called a reporter a “junk journalist” in a fiery social media post. The incident took place after sports media Globo Esporte claimed that Neymar called his coach, Juan Pablo Vojvoda, to apologize for the events that occurred during the defeat against Flamengo last weekend, where he allegedly demanded an explanation for his exit from the field. Neymar commented on the post, denying the call and attacking the journalist. “ Another lie invented by a cheap journalist!!! », Wrote Neymar.

“The Brazilian seemed slow and lacked pace. »

Neymar was heavily criticized for his last performance for Santos in the recent 3-2 defeat to Flamengo. Spanish daily Diario AS branded the former FC Barcelona and PSG player “slow” and warned he will have to fight to make Carlo Ancelotti’s final list for next year’s World Cup.

AS said: “ Upon his return to the starting lineup, the Brazilian appeared slow and lacking pace, even going so far as to hamper the play of certain teammates. He even protested against his replacement. If he does not regain his form quickly, it will be difficult for him to wear the Brazilian national team jersey again at the next World Cup. The former PSG player was out for almost two months with Santos due to a muscle injury which kept him off the field for seven games. He made a brief return in the draw against Fortaleza before missing another match. This long absence was felt in his performance against Flamengo. Still, he showed flashes of his talent with a dangerous free-kick and a header that almost allowed the equalizer. »

A misunderstood genius?

Naturally, Santos came to the defense of their Brazilian star. Alexandre Mattos, the club’s executive director of football, posted on Instagram: “ Geniuses are misunderstood, this has always been the case in the history of humanity. They are visionaries, they do things differently, they make an impact… they are insatiable for challenges, for change, for goals that few manage to achieve… they leave a legacy, they write history… But they are also human beings, they make mistakes and successes, they smile and cry, they have feelings, a heart, they breathe, they live and survive the trials of life… You are like that, a genius… those who know you know who you are, the heart you have, the humility you exude, the kindness you have towards everyone, the father and friend that you are… They try to defeat you, they don’t succeed, they try to make you fall, you get up, everything is greater for you, but you are greater than everything… Do you know why? Because you have God in your heart… a positive aura… My brother, You will never be alone… Be sure that I am here to face the trials of life with you… Your family is, your friends are, your loved ones are… You are admired and adored by me and by everyone who knows you, by billions of people around the world who dream of being like you… You earned it, you deserve it… Difficult times make men stronger! I am always with you! In good times and bad… We are here!
