Author of a completely successful season with OM (7 goals and 8 assists in L1), Luis Henrique took charge of Inter Milan, reigning European vice-champion, last summer. The Brazilian winger, who had struggled a few months earlier to establish himself in the Marseille city, saw a golden opportunity to give his career a new dimension in one of the best European clubs which then paid €23 million to afford him. But far from Marseille, the Brazilian quickly became disillusioned.
Aligned almost immediately after his arrival at the club during the Club World Cup in the United States (3 appearances – 154 minutes of playing time), Luis Henrique had a more chaotic start with Inter when the championships resumed. With only 211 minutes of playing time in Serie A (including 2 starts) and only 13 minutes played in the Champions League, the former Marseillais failed to be decisive on a single occasion under the orders of a Cristian Chivu who was rather perplexed about his player’s performance.
OM, OL and Monaco not interested in Luis Henrique
Worse, the Italian press, starting with the Gazzetta dello Sportis now rather spicy when mentioning the performances of the interist n°11: “Luis Henrique is no longer just a mystery at 23 million euros, he is also and above all the big loser on the left flank of Inter. Because the signal sent by Chivu last Sunday at San Siro is clear: when the Nerazzurro coach, after an hour of play against Lazio, decided to recall Dumfries to the bench, it was not the Brazilian who arrived at Appiano from Marseille who replaced the Dutchman, as logic would have it, but the other Brazilian, Carlos Augusto, who until now has played both the role of replacing Dimarco and that of replacing Bastoni on the left and who is now preparing to move, if necessary, to the opposite side. Because one thing is certain: even if Dumfries needs to breathe like all the other Inter starters, Luis Henrique is not the man for the job to replace him.
An observation shared internally within the Lombard club which already wants to get rid of this very expensive summer flop. His entourage is preparing his exfiltration and has also tried to offer him to Ligue 1 recently. According to our information, Luis Henrique was offered to AS Monaco, OM and OL. But none of the clubs were receptive. The winter transfer window is still far away and there is no doubt that courtiers should come forward to recover this versatile winger, author of a good season last year in Marseille…
