It is with the objective of definitively sealing its ticket for the World Cup that Portugal is approaching this last meeting of the year 2025. After missing qualification last month, Roberto Martinez’s team must finish the job. Leader of its group, Portugal has the arguments to avoid fears, even if Ireland at home always offers tough opposition to its opponents.

Once again, all eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d’Or has no doubts about the qualification of his selection since he has already announced that this American World Cup will be the last of his career. With a thirst for records still intact, Ronaldo will seek to fuel his counter with a view to reaching the 1000 goal mark. Portugal will also be able to rely on the very good form of Parisians Vitinha and Joao Neves. On the other hand, Nuno Mendes, victim of a sprain, is out.

The expected compositions

Ireland :Kelleher; O’Brien, Collins, O’Shea; Coleman, Cullen, Taylor, Johnston; Ebosele, Azaz; Parrott.

Portugal : Costa; Cancelo, Dias, Inacio, Mendes; Fernandes, Neves, Vitinha, Bernardo, Ronaldo, Leao.
