Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo meet for a power play-off, this Thursday in Rabat (Morocco), with the clear objective of joining Nigeria or Gabon in the final of this cleaver match format in the qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup. A match that the Indomitable Lions are approaching with a reduced squad since Choupo-Moting, Zambo Anguissa and Namasso will be missing.

Cameroon will nevertheless be able to rely on other executives such as its triggers Mbeumo and Aboubakar in order to avoid the trap set by its opponent. A team from the Democratic Republic of Congo which should provide tough opposition after a remarkable campaign. Sébastien Desabre’s men came close to qualifying, leading against Senegal before conceding a frustrating setback (2-3). An elimination against Cameroon would be synonymous with eternal regrets.

The expected compositions

Cameroon : Onana – Nagida, Tolo, Ngadeu, Tchatchoua – Baleba, Avom, J. Onana – Mbeumo, Aboubabakar, Nkoudou.

DR Congo : Mpasi – Masuaku, Mbemba, Kalulu, Wan-Bissaka – Moutoussamy, Kayembe – Elia, Mukau, Sadiki – Bakambu.
