His arrival at Clairefontaine always has the same effect. Discreet, smiling, sunny, N’Golo Kanté radiates through the corridors of the Château, without even saying a word.

Already recalled to the French team during the last European Nations Championship, the 2018 world champion no longer appeared during the last rallies this year. But Didier Deschamps decided to summon him again for a crucial training session, with a match against Iceland in which the Blues must punch their ticket for the World Cup.

N’Golo Kanté, a personality who is unanimously appreciated.

A World Cup in which Kanté will perhaps have his say. At the age of 34, the midfielder remains efficient and competitive, despite his exile in the Saudi championship (Al Ittihad). And the least we can say is that his teammates remain impressed.

“I was 15 when he started”

Present at a press conference this Tuesday, Manu Koné summed up the general feeling about N’Golo Kanté well. “He is a world example in midfield. I was 15 when he started for the French team. It’s incredible, he’s a great player and he will bring his experience”he enthused.

It’s very good to play with him. I think he was there for my first matches. It’s very good, alongside him I’m just learning. He does good for the team with his way of playing“, concluded the AS Roma midfielder, who could be led to form a duo with this legend of the Blues.
