The France team has been assembled since the start of the week to play its last two matches of the year 2025. As part of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, Didier Deschamps’ men face Ukraine this Thursday (8:45 p.m.) before traveling to Azerbaijan in three days. Eduardo Camavinga is uncertain.

The Real Madrid midfielder is at Clairefontaine with the rest of his French comrades but he does not train with them. As confirmed by L’Équipe this Wednesday, he stayed apart and limited himself to jogging with one of the members of the Blues staff.

This is the second day in a row that the former Stade Rennais player has not participated in the collective session. The exact reason for this special treatment is not known, but it is obviously not very reassuring. For the rest of the group, nothing to report and everyone was present today, including Jules Koundé, who was preserved on Tuesday.

The Blues are aiming for qualification from Thursday

In the event of a victory on Thursday evening against the Ukrainians, the French team would validate its ticket for the World Cup organized jointly by the United States, Canada and Mexico next summer. With three victories and a draw in their first four matches, Kylian Mbappé and his team are at the top of Group D with three points ahead of Ukraine and six over Iceland.

Suffice it to say that the objective is practically achieved, even if Didier Deschamps wants to keep his men focused until the end so as not to fear a scenario reminiscent of that of 1993 and the qualification for the 1994 World Cup in the United States missed in the last moments against Bulgaria, during a match that has remained infamous.
