The French team returns this Thursday for a qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup against Ukraine and then against Azerbaijan. For the occasion, Didier Deschamps decided to call up N’Golo Kanté and Eduardo Camavinga in midfield. The two men make their return with the Blues jersey. And obviously, DD was questioned about both cases.

“Kante is doing well, he arrived with a smile. If he will start after yesterday’s session? It wasn’t me who made the team in training (laughs). He maintains his level of performance, with a certain rhythm, because his club is playing in the Asian Champions League. He is always at his best. He has a background and an experience which are also important. (…) And for Camavinga, he has injuries which prevent him from having continuity. He expects more from him too, he wants more playing time, he wants to do better. He comes out of six months without playing for Real. He played more in one week than in the last six months. He has a lot of qualities. Being spared from injuries would allow him to have more regularity.
