OM continues to fuel the debates. If Roberto De Zerbi showed a big smile during Marseille’s victory against Brest last Saturday (3-0), the atmosphere was not at all the same for Christophe Dugarry. Guest of the show Rothen ignites on RMC this Monday, the former Marseillais gave a real rant about the current level of play of the Marseille team.

“I’m tired with OM. They take us for hams. Those who enjoy watching OM play say it loud and clear. There is no problem. Honestly, when I watch OM play, I get bored, it’s deadly”Dugarry said. He subsequently qualified his remarks: “That hasn’t been the case all season. Against Ajax, I found them great. Against Paris, even if they suffered, I thought they played an extraordinary match. There are a few matches where I enjoyed myself. But most of the time I’m bored. »

OM struggles to convince

The former world champion took the match against Brest as an example, describing Marseille’s performance as “absolute purge”. “The goalkeeper gives them the first goal, the second is a penalty. It was ugly, it was at home. Brest are catastrophic, they are extremely worthless”he asserted, pointing out the weakness displayed by OM during certain matches which were nevertheless considered within their reach.

For Dugarry, the problem goes beyond simple performance on the pitch and directly affects the club’s ambitions. “If the shareholder is happy to spend 200-300-400 million to have these kinds of matches and his performances, so much the better for him. If De Zerbi and the leaders are happy, the public comes in numbers, so much the better for them. I have no worries, they will achieve their goal. 250 million budget to be 2nd or 3rd in Ligue 1. Is that the objective of OM? »he asks, denouncing a lack of standards at all levels.
