Lionel Messi’s move to PSG was not always easy. Arriving at Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 after 17 years at FC Barcelona, the Argentine striker regularly displayed a certain discomfort during his stay in the French capital, before his departure in 2023.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or once again spoke about his Parisian adventure. In an interview given to Sportthe 38-year-old clarified his comments and assured that he had a great experience in the capital, even if he maintains a certain feeling about the sporting aspect. “It also seems like Paris was a nightmare, but not at all”he says.
“If I say I didn’t have a good time, it’s because I wasn’t happy with what I was doing and what I love doing: playing football, everyday life, training, matches. I didn’t feel well.”he explains. But he specifies: “Honestly, we had a great experience as a family. The city is spectacular, we loved it. »
“I didn’t feel well every day”
The Argentinian also looks back on the difficulties encountered when he arrived at PSG. “It was the first time we left Barcelona, everything was new to us, which made things very difficult. It wasn’t an injury, it just happened. But I didn’t feel good on a daily basis in what I love to do”he explains.
Today at Inter Miami, Messi says he is fully fulfilled.
“Everything is fine here. We enjoy the city, our daily life. It’s a very similar life to the one I had in Castelldefels. The club is very close, the children’s school too, everything is easily accessible and practical. We live far from the city, which is beautiful, but the traffic is hell”confides the Argentine star, who has just returned to Camp Nou.
