Under the orders of Gian Piero Gasperini, the Giallorossi delivered a serious performance, marked by constant technical and collective domination against a powerless Friulian team. Roma opened the scoring shortly before the break thanks to Lorenzo Pellegrini, author of a perfectly executed penalty (42nd) after a foul by Kabasele on Matías Soulé. After half-time, the Romans continued to dictate the tempo and logically doubled the lead thanks to Zeki Çelik (61st), opportunistic in the area after good work from Dovbyk on the right wing.
Opposite, Kosta Runjaić’s Udinese never seemed able to worry the Roman defense, despite some flashes from Nicolò Zaniolo, back at the Olimpico.
