Robert Lewandowski, the smashing return

FC Barcelona supporters can rest assured: Robert Lewandowski has not lost his goalscoring instinct. Absent for several weeks due to a thigh injury, the Pole returned to the competition with two timid starts. For his first start in a month, he hit hard.

Lewandowski thus scored a hat-trick on the field of Celta de Vigo, where Barça won a spectacular match (2-4). The former Bayern player opened the scoring from the penalty spot (10th), before scoring two goals in the game, on assists from Marcus Rashford (37th, 74th).

This was necessary for the Blaugranas, because Celta had equalized twice, through Sergio Carreira (11th) and Borja Iglesias (43rd). In the process, it was Lamine Yamal who gave his team the advantage (45th + 4).

This success allows FC Barcelona to take advantage of Real Madrid’s draw at Rayo Vallecano (0-0) to come back to within three points of the leader.
