The reunion between Randal Kolo Muani and the Blues will ultimately not take place. The French striker was called up by Didier Deschamps to play the matches against Ukraine and Azerbaijan as part of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, on November 13 and 16.

As in September and October, the Bondynois will miss the rally due to an injury. The Spurs striker fractured his jaw during Tottenham’s match against Manchester United (2-2) on Saturday in the Premier League and was withdrawn.

Thauvin recalled as reinforcement

To compensate for his absence, Deschamps decided to call on Florian Thauvin. Last month, the RC Lens striker had already been called up to replace Bradley Barcola, who suffered a right hamstring injury.

The former Marseillais had seized this opportunity to shine. Coming into play at the end of the match against Azerbaijan (3-0), he scored the 2nd goal under the rooster’s jersey with a superb volley with his left foot.
