Paris Saint-Germain still impresses the football world, despite its defeat in the Champions League against Bayern Munich last Tuesday at the Parc des Princes (1-2).

Several elements of Luis Enrique’s training are above the fray and establishing themselves as the best in their position at the moment. This is the case of left back Nuno Mendes. The Portuguese defender has been at the top of his game for several months.

Unfortunately, the latter was injured this Tuesday in the Champions League against Bayern Munich. The 23-year-old suffers from a sprained left knee. He will remain in treatment for the coming weeks, the capital club announced in its latest medical press release.

He is therefore missing the meeting with Portugal. His coach Roberto Martinez will have to do without his left winger who he currently considers to be the best player in the world.
“My assessment of Nuno Mendes is very subjective, it’s like talking about my son. But I think that at the moment, there is no other left-back in the world capable of defending one-on-one and who, with the ball at his feet, can play as a number 10 in the center, and who is also efficient on the wing,” he initially said at a press conference.

Before continuing: “He is very good in the air and can play in central defense. So, for me, he is the best player in the world, a decisive player for his club. » “There is no one to replace Nuno Mendes, he is probably the best in the world. We have to find solutions, find balance on the wing. »

Back for the reception of Tottenham in C1?

This is a real blow for Paris Saint-Germain who will have to do without Nuno Mendes, Achraf Hakimi and Ousmane Dembélé for several weeks. The first, who has been shining since the start of the season, could perhaps return to the field at the end of November for the reception of Tottenham in the Champions League on November 26.

Luis Enrique should give a little more details on his players’ injuries this Saturday at a press conference. To be continued…
