After four defeats in a row against Tottenham, Manchester United managed to stop the black streak this Saturday. Traveling to Spurs this Saturday, Ruben Amorim’s men led the score for a long time before coming close to defeat with two goals conceded in the final minutes. But Matthijs de Ligt saved his team in stoppage time (2-2, 11th day of the Premier League).

The last ten minutes of the game alone were worth the trip and the Tottenham supporters believed they were witnessing the victory of theirs. However, it was Manchester United who opened the scoring in the first period, thanks to summer recruit Bryan Mbeumo (0-1, 32nd).

The striker, increasingly comfortable with his new team, then worked with his teammates to preserve the result. But the pressure from London grew stronger and stronger and it was finally Mathys Tel, who entered five minutes earlier, who equalized for Spurs (1-1, 84th). A first blow to the head of the Mancunians, before a second from Richarlison (90th + 1).

De Ligt showers Spurs

To make matters worse, United found themselves down to ten men when Benjamin Sesko went off injured, while Ruben Amorim had already made his five changes. But that was without counting on the will of the Red Devils, determined to try everything until the end. And that’s exactly what they showed. On a final corner hit by Bruno Fernandes, Matthijs de Ligt victoriously took the ball back at the far post (2-2, 90th+6).

Cold snap in the stadium, except among the Manchester United supporters who exulted at the same time as their players. This point taken is nevertheless deserved for the visitors, Tottenham having not shown much during a good part of the match. In the provisional ranking, Spurs are third, Manchester United seventh.
