Liga: Villarreal wins against Espanyol and takes 2nd place

Fourth in La Liga, Villarreal had the opportunity to overtake FC Barcelona as well as Atlético de Madrid to climb to the second step of the podium. But for that, Marcelino’s men had to win at the RCDE Stadium against Espanyol (6th). And that’s exactly what the visitors did, thanks to the achievements of Gerard Moreno (43rd) and Alberto Moreiro (57th).

Thanks to the two Spaniards, Villarreal won (0-2) and is therefore the new runner-up to Real Madrid, while waiting for Barça to travel to Celta de Vigo. Espanyol, for its part, remains in 6th position and could be overtaken by Getafe if they succeed in Mallorca this Sunday.
