The story between Neal Maupay and Olympique de Marseille is far from having delivered its epilogue. Pushed out last summer and put on the shelf since the start of the season, the French striker is preparing to make his return to the Marseille first team.
For now, the native of Versailles has only taken part in one meeting, played with the reserve team against AC Seyssinet (1-0) in National, last Saturday. Barring any surprises, he should be present in the group called for the reception at Stade Brestois this Saturday in Ligue 1.
De Zerbi’s update
At a press conference this Friday, Roberto De Zerbi explained the reasons for this possible reinstatement. The Italian technician said he was satisfied with his player’s state of form, while specifying that the final decision would be made after the last training session.
“Why now? Because I see him better physically, he is more positive, but we will see after training. (…) Sometimes I lie about my composition, but here, I tell the truth: I don’t know who will play and how we will play”confided the tactician from Brescia.
