Didier Deschamps and Karim Benzema, the reunion?

The adventure is almost over for Didier Deschamps as coach of the France team. Arriving in 2012 to take over from Laurent Blanc, the former midfielder rose to the challenge perfectly, notably seeking the second world champion star in 2018. The end is planned for after the 2026 World Cup, but what will he do next. Why not join Karim Benzema in Saudi Arabia?

The hypothesis is unlikely, but Didier Deschamps nevertheless released a little information in an interview given to
Téléfoot. While waiting for the full broadcast of the sequence in Sunday’s show, the TF1 program’s social networks have leaked a little extract that is as short as it is crisp.

The journalist asked him this question: “A club from Saudi Arabia would have contacted you. Is it true or is it false? » After several seconds of silence, the former coach of Olympique de Marseille, AS Monaco and Juventus confirmed. “I was able to have… contacts…” A priori, he will not say more.

Deschamps-Benzema, a long story

There is no doubt that the Blues coach will receive (and is surely already receiving) many offers for his next challenge on a bench, but it appears very complicated to see him fly to Saudi Arabia. But you should never say never. A possible reunion between Karim Benzema and him would in any case make people talk about it.

The two men parted one evening in November 2022, while the French team was preparing to enter the competition in which it will reach the final. The almost surreptitious departure of the 2022 Ballon d’Or was commented on for many months afterwards, the latter notably calling into question the explanations of Didier Deschamps.
