ASSE: A bomb ready to explode before Troyes

ASSE is going through a period of extreme fragility. After the defeat against Red Star last Saturday, the group showed signs of implosion: internal tensions, thinly veiled criticism of Tardieu, management crisis meeting, growing questions about Horneland’s ability to hold his locker room. But there is worse. Much worse. Because 48 hours before the biggest match of the season against leader Troyes (Saturday November 8), a new threat emerges from the shadows. It could end up destabilizing a collective already in precarious balance.

Lucas Stassin, the 20-year-old Belgian striker, is in great danger. According to Jeunes Footeux, West Ham is preparing a monumental offer to make the young Saint-Etienne prodigy leave in January. The chilling figures: West Ham, currently 19th in the Premier League with a winter transfer window of 300 million euros to spend, is targeting Stassin with obsession. The expected offer? Between 25 and 30 million euros – a sum that Kilmer Sports Ventures will find difficult to refuse.

Stassin: The jewel of ASSE in the eyes of London

Why this craze for a 20 year old? The numbers speak for themselves. Stassin exploded last season in Ligue 1: 12 goals and 5 assists in 28 games. His efficiency, his placement and his precocity won over all European recruiters. But it is the catastrophic situation at West Ham which accelerates everything.

Hammers summer signing Niclas Füllkrug is a resounding flop. With a disastrous record and a season that is collapsing, the London leaders know that they must strike hard and quickly. Stassin represents the solution: a young goalscorer in full progress, hungry for challenges, ready for the Premier League.

The storm gets worse in Forez

The timing is brutal. At the exact moment when Horneland needs his team to remain mobilized and united, at the moment when Tardieu and the locker room are asking existential questions about the direction of the project, the rumor of the departure of Stassin – the best attacker of the Greens – begins to circulate.

This news will create a colossal distraction. Players will ask themselves the question: “Is Stassin leaving? Will Kilmer sell it? Will we grow stronger or weaker? » Meanwhile, Horneland tries as best he can to maintain cohesion.

Saturday’s issues

Troyes has never been so crucial. A setback against the leader means the crisis grows. And if at the same time the sale of Stassin materializes, it is a signal of abandonment sent by management: we no longer believe in the Horneland project, we sell the best players.

ASSE is chasing time. Horneland is chasing credibility. And now Stassin is chasing an offer of 30 million euros. The question is no longer if a bomb will explode, but when.
