What future for Vinicius? An integral part of the Ancelotti era, the Real Madrid winger has been downgraded since the arrival of Xavi Alonso in favor of Kylian Mbappé. A difficult situation to live with for the former Flamengo prodigy, who failed to keep his nerve when he was replaced during the last Clasico against FC Barcelona.
Exasperated at being left off the field while he was having a good match against the Blaugrana, Vini attacked Xabi Alonso directly when he was replaced. A scene which was not at all appreciated by the Spanish technician and the Madrid management. Despite the Brazilian’s apologies, this episode may have marked the end of the story between Real and Vinicius.
At least that’s what Arsène Wenger thinks. Guest of the show El Chiriguinto, the former manager of the Gunners spoke about the Vinicius case, believing that the latter’s departure from the White House was now inevitable.
Wenger: ‘Not convinced Vinicius’ future is at Madrid’
“There are questions surrounding Vinicius. I am convinced that what happened in the last match when he was substituted (during the Clasico, editor’s note) was not well accepted by Real Madrid », First indicated the director of world football development at FIFA.
“Real always want to show that the club is bigger than any single player so I’m not convinced that Vinicius’ future is in Madrid”added Wenger.
At the end of his contract with Real Madrid in June 2027, Vinicius has still not extended his lease. Worse, negotiations with his management are said to have stalled. A transfer this summer would even be seriously considered.
