Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie was allegedly threatened with a gun by his former agent, according to revelations from Sun. The incident reportedly happened in early September, while the player was walking down a busy London street with a friend. The altercation allegedly broke out after Udogie informed his agent that he no longer wished to collaborate with him. Police intervened around 11 p.m. on September 6, before arresting the suspect, aged 31, two days later. The latter is being prosecuted for possession of a firearm with intent, blackmail and driving without a license.
The London club indicated its full support for the player and his family, while refusing to comment further on a matter still ongoing. No injuries were reported, but according to a source cited by The Sunthis episode caused a real shock for the player. Despite this trauma, the 21-year-old Italian left-back returned to competition quickly, notably playing in the Champions League match against Copenhagen this Tuesday evening (4-0).
