The winter transfer window series around Endrick continues to fascinate supporters, in France and abroad. The Real Madrid striker, a former Palmeiras nugget, is attracting interest from Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille, but also from German and English clubs. In recent days, Aston Villa, coached by Unai Emery, has emerged as a serious contender, positioning itself as a major competitor for the Rhone club in this matter.

Sportingly, the advantage seems to go to Lyon for the moment. According to The TeamEndrick had a telephone interview with Paulo Fonseca, who reassured him about the playing time he could get upon his arrival, a strong argument since OL have been without a center forward since the start of the season. The 19-year-old player also seems determined to join the Rhone club to gain consistency and put himself in the spotlight with a view to a possible call-up for the 2026 World Cup with Brazil.

But Aston Villa has financial arguments that Lyon cannot match. According to journalist Hugo Guillemet in The Evening Teamthe English club can easily align with Real Madrid’s demands for a loan from Endrick, estimated at less than 5 million euros, and cover 100% of his salary, a point that Lyon could find difficult to assume. These parameters make Aston Villa a serious competitor, despite the player’s stated preference for OL.

Real Madrid sets its conditions

According to ESPN BrazilReal Madrid has already set its conditions for the departure of the Brazilian. It would be a loan without an option to buy, a clause which would have cooled certain clubs like Manchester United and even Aston Villa. This could therefore work in Lyon’s favor, again according to the Brazilian media, which specifies that the French club remains very active in finalizing the operation.

To secure the file, Olympique Lyonnais entrusted one of Paulo Fonseca’s assistants with the task of studying in detail all of Endrick’s matches, with Real Madrid and Palmeiras, in order to compile a complete file on the striker’s playing style. The competition will be fierce, but Lyon seems more determined than ever to land the Brazilian prodigy on loan for the second half of the season.
