Champions League: which eleven for PSG against Bayern Munich?

Paris Saint-Germain continues its march forward. Despite a start to the season marked by numerous physical glitches, the capital club still has an impressive balance sheet. Leader of Ligue 1 after its new victory against OGC Nice on Saturday evening, PSG will also try to confirm its domination on the European scene. Fallers of Atalanta Bergamo, FC Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen, Luis Enrique’s men – currently at the top of the league phase – are now preparing to challenge Bayern Munich, considered at the time of writing to be the most fit team in Europe.

For this shock at the top, which could already allow the Rouge et Bleu to secure qualification, Luis Enrique will however have to deal with certain uncertainties. Therefore, if Désiré Doué, affected against Lorient, is already out, the presence of Ousmane Dembélé, who felt new discomfort after his entry into play against Nice, is also compromised, even if his presence in the group is probable. Faced with the Bavarians, PSG should once again organize themselves in 4-3-3 with a typical defense. In goal, Lucas Chevalier will be protected by a quartet composed of Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Nuno Mendes.

PSG with Ramos from the start?

In midfield, the inevitable Vitinha, third in the last Ballon d’Or, is logically expected. To support the Portuguese, Luis Enrique could rely on his usual executives, Fabian Ruiz, back on the field against the Aiglons, and João Neves, not necessarily convincing against the Gym. After going through a bad patch, Warren Zaire-Emery remains, for his part, a possible alternative, just like Kang-in Lee. Finally, the main source of uncertainty comes from the offensive sector. If Bradley Barcola and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should logically animate the Parisian wings, the identity of the attacking third seems far from being established.

PSG’s attacking leader in recent months, Ousmane Dembélé logically leaves with the favor of the forecasts but his state of form does not reassure. Back on the pitch on Saturday, during his team’s victory against Nice, the former Barcelona player showed worrying signs: “I have pain in my ischio. I’m in too much pain”notably entrusted the Parisian number 10 to his teammates. If he was present in training this Monday, the French international could therefore start this European shock on the bench. To succeed him, Luis Enrique would then have two possible alternatives: Senny Mayulu in a role of false number 9 or Gonçalo Ramos, brilliant for his hundredth with PSG.
