Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé won the European Golden Boot on Friday, rewarding the top scorer of the 2024-2025 season.

He scored 44 goals in all competitions, including 31 in his first season in La Liga.

Mbappé joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024, and so far the transfer is proving successful, even though the Whites failed to win any major titles last season. According to Marca, he was asked to compare his experience at the two clubs.

“They are very different clubs, with different histories. PSG are a much younger club, while Real Madrid have a much richer and longer history. The culture is also different. Without a doubt, Real Madrid is the best club in the world, but PSG is also among the best. They are two different visions of football and I am proud to have been part of Real Madrid and PSG. »

Mbappé: We understand what Xabi Alonso expects from us.

Mbappé also shared his thoughts on being managed by Xabi Alonso and compared the current Real Madrid coach to his predecessor, Carlo Ancelotti.

“I’ve had a lot of coaches and I’m used to everyone having their own philosophy and style. Xabi is different from Ancelotti, he has his own working method and little by little we understand what he expects from us. We can see on the pitch that we have progressed since the start of the season, since the Club World Cup, even if we still have a way to go. We haven’t won anything yet, but we are satisfied. We are on the right track and we hope to win as many titles as possible. »

Mbappé: I can’t compare myself to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mbappé also spoke about his ability to surpass the record set by his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, at Real Madrid.

“Everyone knows that Cristiano is the reference in Madrid, the number one. I’ve been here a year and a half, and he’s been here for nine years. I can’t compare myself to what he accomplished; my journey is different. I want to chart my own path, and to be mentioned next to Cristiano is already a source of pride. But I only focus on my own path, on helping the team and winning as many titles as possible. »
