Liga: Alavés brings down Espanyol

Nice shot made by Alavés. Mariano Diaz’s teammates had a hearty menu this Sunday with the reception of Espanyol, fifth in Liga, but they did not succumb to indigestion. They won 2-1 thanks to goals from Denis Suarez (5th) and Lucas Boye (40th).

Roberto Fernandez Jean reduced the gap after the break, but the Madrid club held the score despite the expulsion of Lucas Boye at the very end of the match (90+2nd). Thanks to their victory, Alavés jumped to 8th place in La Liga. Espanyol is in 5th place.
