Arriving at Bayern Munich in 2021 after a stint at Leipzig, Dayot Upamecano quickly established himself as one of the executives of his club. Since his appointment on the Bavarian bench last season, Vincent Kompany has made him a pillar of his defense. Obviously, his club would like to be able to count on him for a long time despite the requests and the end of his contract next summer.
During a speech given this Sunday, Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer publicly invited him to renew his lease, like some of his teammates: “A year ago in this place, I expressed the wish that we keep Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies at Bayern. The club management has granted this request and Bayern can continue to build with these three players. These three extensions, with that of Vincent Kompany, are a sign that here, at Bayern, something is growing. And that’s why I also say: “Dear Dayot Upamecano, I gladly invite you to do the same.”
