The Catalan club will organize a training session open to the public, which will serve as a test for the renovated facilities.
Having pushed back the return date throughout the past year, the Blaugrana will now proceed in stages, first welcoming 27,000 fans, then 45,000 and finally 60,000 this season. Work on the third level will then begin and should last between one and two years, to bring the final capacity to 105,000 places.
FC Barcelona announces a training session open to the public.
FC Barcelona’s big return to the legendary pitch will take place on Friday, November 7, in a week, at 11:00 a.m. Tickets will be €5 for club members and €10 for the general public. FC Barcelona will face Celta Vigo this Sunday at Balaídos before the November international break.
FC Barcelona hopes to return to competition this month.
The Catalan club hopes to obtain authorization for the second phase of reopening, which will take place between November 12 and 15, in order to be able to play again at the Camp Nou from that month. The Catalan club have decided to remain at Montjuïc until this authorization is obtained, with the 55,000 capacity of the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys proving more profitable in terms of revenue on match days. If FC Barcelona obtains authorization for the second phase – the club has always communicated these dates well in advance for the first phase – it could then host Athletic Club at the Camp Nou on November 22, or Alavés on the 29th.
Furthermore, we learn that FC Barcelona has submitted a bid to host the 2029 Champions League final at the Camp Nou, once the renovation work is completed. Ben Jacobs explains that Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena will host the 2028 final, while Wembley will compete with Camp Nou (formerly Spotify) for the 2029 edition.
